H. Marlene Stratton is a member of Sheridan Artists' Guild, Et al. She has been dabbling in writing and art for some time. Widowed in 2006 after forty four years of marriage when her husband succumbed from cancer, she began working with watercolors and acrylics in earnest. The results are the paintings you see here.
Living in Wyoming near the Big Horn Mountains provides abundant subject matter for her landscapes. Most of her paintings are from photographs of places she has lived or visited, or that were given to her by friends. Occasionally a painting will burst forth from her imagination... Although she has a passion for landscapes, and sunsets in particular, she has also done a few portraits.
The poetry book is a collection of poems she has written throughout her lifetime, and is illustrated by photos from her collection. Her life has also been enriched in many ways by growing up in northern Wisconsin with four brothers and countless cousins, and later on raising four wonderful sons.
The artist/writer would like to give thankful credit, most of all to her Creator and Savior, Jesus Christ, Almighty God, from whom all talents are received; and also to family and friends, who have been completely supportive and encouraging.
